The community and public sector union and the government have agreed on a package that aims to reward you for your important work, while ensuring that public services can be made more responsive. The Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement 2020 was officially approved by the Fair Labour Commission on October 2, 2020 and began its work on October 9, 2020. Workers receive a mobility bonus, which must be paid as an annual package, in recognition of their continued commitment to these new ways of working. The successful job and skills exchange initiative, which transfers its employees and your activities to the Commission on 1 December 2020 as part of a change of government, will expand its services to ensure a sustainable, agile and capable staff for the future. If you have any questions about the VPS contract, please email vpsagreement2020@dpc.vic.gov.au (External Link). A full list of changes to the current agreement and a copy of the final agreement are attached. In the 2020-21 state budget, the Victorian government invested in professional mobility and skills development in the Victorian Public Service (VPS) with a contribution of $8.97 million over two years. Take some time to review the proposed agreement before the vote. The parties to the agreement committed to implementing changes in the operation and provision of services by the Victorian government by adopting the principles of “labour mobility.” The principles recognize that the services required by the community of a modern public service are not static; they change all the time. Flexible work will be clarified and protected by the merger of all existing provisions into a specific part of the new agreement. Workers no longer have to work for 12 months before requesting flexible working time arrangements.
